God hates me, I'm telling you right now lol.
I find it ironic, but before you think I'm all gloom and doom this year... I'll get to the point.

Last night as I'm going to bed, I notice this annoyance in my mouth. I discover my back molar is broken. the surface and face have a huge chunk out of it. Now for me to say 'huge chunk' I really mean... HUGE.

So, I need to either get it capped or filled and sadly, it's going to have to be capped. No way around it.

Many of you have the ability to have your insurance pay for a portion of it. I've gone through two insurance companies and several dentists and they all do the same thing to the insurance companies... let them off the hook with how they describe the tooth.

SO... I don't have insurance. Since I work for myself, I have no carrier handed to me by the company I work for.

I should go find another job, but this year looks like I will finally, be very busy with my artwork. Things ARE picking up in that sense.

ANYWAYS to the heart of the entry.

I wasn't going to do this right away but I need some help. I need to raise enough money so I can get this tooth fixed SOON. My family finally felt so sorry for me that they have agreed to pay for one tooth that needs capped as it is already. I cannot ask them to do that for more.

So, starting Tuesday night (I hope) I'll be accepting sketch card commissions both online and offline. That means, I'll try to do some on ustream and many I'll do offline.

I'll even throw out two versions. I've only worked on widevision cards twice in my life, so I'm not used to them. BUT I'm offering standard size and widevision size.
35 bucks for standard 50 bucks for widevision. Shipping is included for domestic orders. I now have 3 zombies vs cheerleaders artist blanks available to the public. I won't lie, they cost more than these other cards do. It's because they are from a set tho and I bust my hump more than most artists do with those cards.

What's the difference?
The sketch cards I'm offering online and offline... the (cheaper ones) I'll do whatever you ask on the spot. I won't sit like I do with the artist blanks for sketch cards, and give you choices of how you want the piece to look.

I hope that makes sense.

Anyways... I'm hoping people can come to my aide in getting this tooth fixed sooner than it has taken me to get my #12 fixed. (That's how much I've been to the dentist, I know the teeth by what number they are)... hell I can almost tell you what tool to use for which job now.

Well, I have the webcam, and thanks to my friend I was able to get it to work on A computer. Not THE computer, I wanted it to work on, but it'll do. What's going to happen is, for a large portion of today, I'm trying to figure out how to get it to 'levitate' over the table, so A) it doesn't shake and wobble when I work and B) close enough so you don't see my head in the way, but you get to see what i'm doing.

So, I'm putting up a shelving unit on my wall today, sticking curtain rods to the shelving unit and thanks to a creative dude I know who works with plastic and plexi... attached my webcam to a piece of plexi glass to rest on the curtain rods. I should be able to get this done today. I'll be working on some stuff (hopefully) around 8 or 9 pm CENTRAL time.

Well, Christmas showed up and left. With Christmas, for me, I was given a <sarcasm >wonderful 5 feet of snow to remove from my driveway and sidewalks.</sarcasm >

With that, Santa gave me something even more, because I was such a good boy this year... a cold. Or a sinus infection, I can't tell which at the moment. They both hit me the same.

While this is going on, I have two commissions I'm working on. Hopefully I'll be finished with one of them by Wednesday afternoon. The other one, I'm praying for Thursday afternoon.

Overall, the christmas special I offered was a bust (big surprise there) but I'll try something some other time down the road perhaps. I was talking with a few friends in the industry and we all gave war stories of commissions, pricing, gouging by other artists and overall, lots and lots of talking over saki... well, ok that's a lie. I drank coke while talking to a lot of these guys and gals.

2010 looks promising at the moment. I was handed many projects by the end of this year that many I turned down. Most were scam artists looking for free art while they pocket the money. Others didn't know what the hell they wanted and think that praise is the best way to pay an artist. Sorry to say, I have bills like you do too... I can't praise my bill collectors and say OK, I think we're square now.

So, those were passed off. One however, caught my eye and I've worked with the guy before so I know he's honest and willing to pay me for my work. So, I'll be starting to work on that in the upcoming two weeks.

Sonic Jack is still coming along. I feel like the Travis Charest of Nebraska at the moment with his Meta Barons work. lol No offense to Travis btw... I love his work and think he's a cool cat.

So, hopefully by the end of NEXT YEAR, I'll have some work to ship out and possibly do a free webisode deal with Sonic Jack and then check out printing it with a lot of extras. (And no, I won't be posting the extras anywhere online.)

I had to deal with a lot this year and slowly working through the kinks of it all. Emotional drain, Physical strain, Psychological strain. Everything happened this year for a reason. Whatever that reason may be, I don't know. I lost a lot of money this year to do an injury I later, fixed my self. Trust me, I wasn't happy about that lol. I'd be more than able to pay off my credit card with what I lost and started to save by now.

Anyways... I'm hoping that next year will bring in a lot of great moments that I can share with all of you.

I'll be ustreaming from time to time next year as I just got a webcam. I just need to figure out how to set it up for you to watch what I draw, instead of watching me.

I'll be doing a lot of sketch cards, it looks like next year.
Speaking of which... I've been given some artist blanks from zombies vs cheerleaders that are up for sale. I had 5 I'm down to 2 now. Had fun working on that set. It was a rush job. I only had 3 days to get 20 cards done, and then shipped back in time to be put into decks. So... I hope all of you enjoy those that get them. I've seen about 4 so far, on scoundrel that were found.

After the 15th of next month, I'll post up my moonstone maximum cards, and the zombies vs cheerleaders so you can see all of what I did.

Looking forward to what happens in 2010... let's hope a lot of positive moments occur for all of us.

After a few months of having this idea in my head, I've come to the next stage of getting it on paper. To give you more detail to what my cryptic message means... many months back, asked for ideas for a piece he was doing, regarding Black Cat. Well, seeing as how this is a fav character of mine, I wanted to participate somehow to help. So I gave him an idea for a pose. Playful and yet very pinup glam sexy if you will. I loved what he did with the pose. Alas, it was not used because of layout problems. The pose just stuck with me and I have tried to draw it out the way I would create it (angle wise) and I can't do it. I have it in my head but just can't put pencil to paper.

The pose and angle are for an idea I had for one of my characters from Sonic Jack. I then decided, why not both female main characters in the same pose? It could work!

Well, still I was stuck on the drawing board (literally).

Today, a friend from the artist jam talked to me before I left. She is a really cool cat and she's very laid back. The best thing about this was I didn't feel awkward asking for the help of her posing for me. And she from what I gathered, didn't feel I was going to be some sleaze asking her to pose nude. Which is awesome. (I'm not asking her to pose nude btw)

So, I have a model now that's willing to help me out when we both have a chance.

After I get this out of my system, it's one block less to accomplishing more Sonic Jack artwork.

My roster of things to do is as follows.
Commissioner Gordon commission.

That's it. lol Nothing else that I HAVE to do.
The rest of it is artwork for prints and pinups that I just want to do to sell.

After this commission, I'll probably get back to Sonic Jack and get it back on track.

My goal last year around this time, due to my loss of well quite a bit of my life, was to have it done and printed by now, or at least by Christmas. Needless to say due to many setbacks and emotional drains, that goal was never accomplished.

We'll see if I can't get it done next year then. I am closer than I was last year at least. We'll see how it goes. I just hope I have a cheering section to keep me going this time around. It always helps afterall, to have people excited and wanting to keep you just as excited for the project as they are to see it finished.
