was commissioned to do this masterpiece of artwork for me. GREAT guy and wonderful friend. It's of Denise Milani whom I used as character reference for my Sonic Jack character; Vanessa Asimov. She's the 'interest' of our main character Sonic Jack Brazzle.
We had talked at the start, of doing a card of Princess Katranna, I sent him reference for her and we had a hicup. So, we changed characters and I gave him reference of two people for Vanessa. Those being Ewa Sonnet and Denise Milani. He started on Ewa but something stopped him, what I don't know, but he was looking through the Denise photos I sent him and stopped at this image of her. That was the decision breaker for him and he did this one.
I was REALLY happy to see he went with Denise for this too. as the more I looked at my sketches, the more I saw Denise, rather than Ewa. I got the colored and pencil version yesterday in the mail and my GOD They rock so hardcore in person!
If you need a sketch card or ACEO that looks this awesome contact my boy on here and hey, he's open for commissions right now, so take him up on the offer. Reasonable prices to say the least. I mean hey, it'd have to be I bought one lol
I thought it was going to cost me a few hundred to get a card done by him... totally off the scale to what he charges right now. (in a good way)
And seeing how this is a depiction of my character... I get to type this now... Vanessa Asimov and Sonic Jack characters are copyright Jon Riggle
this is the size of two sketch cards put together... but yeah, I feel the same way. On the other side of the coin however... he does a totally different style than either us, just like you have a different style than I do.
So, as I said in a journal entry not long ago, comparing our work to Jeff's is like comparing the 1974 el camino to a 2005 ferrari enzo or in your case, a 2001 dodge vyper RS. You can do it, but it'd be a waste of time lol.
Fair enough -- but I'm more wowed by the line control. If I ever tried to put that many small lines on anyone -- even in color -- they'd come out looking hairier than bigfoot. Dang.
